Western Colorado Riders & Enthusiasts 2018 Motorcycle Trail Maintenance

Western Colorado Riders & Enthusiasts 2018 Motorcycle Trail Maintenance

The Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative congratulates the members of the Western Colorado Riders & Enthusiasts (WESTCORE, Inc.), an off-highway motorcycle riding club based in Montrose, CO, on its 2018 OAI grant to fund the club’s trail maintenance and safety programs.  For this project, WESTCORE members focused their efforts on the Silverjack Reservoir riding area, a multi-use trail system for motorcycles, OHVs and snowmobiles on the Uncompahgre Plateau.

The Yamaha OAI grant funds purchased much needed chainsaws and safety gear for the club’s ongoing clearing work to take care of more than 200+ miles of trails.  Several of WESTCORE’s members are both Sawyer Certified and medically-trained.  Funds will also go toward medical kits so the first aid team has what it needs on hand to help riders in need.

The Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative is proud to support the members of the Western Colorado Riders and Enthusiasts in their effort to ensure reliable, supported access to the vital trail systems for OHV riders of all types on the Uncompahgre Plateau.
